Environmental Literacy in America ( 2.9 MB pdf) by Kevin J. Coyle, former director of the National Environmental Education Foundation. This paper provides a thoughtful overview of what has (and hasn't) worked in environmental education and recommends effective approaches for future work.
Logic Models are being used by more nonprofits, and more funders are asking for them in evaluations. One of the best resources on the subject is available through the Kellogg Foundation ( pdf). An example of a logic model used by Biodiversity Project is in their evaluation of the Great Lakes Forever campaign ( 8.44 MB pdf). Examples of how the logic model was used in the pilot campaign are discussed in Chapter 3 (Evaluation Strategy) on pages 46-56 and also in Appendix A (pages 107- 119) of the report.
